Evaluation of Chitosan as Accelerator for Skin Wound Healing

Skin considered as an organ of integumentary system composed of layers of tissue and appendages that protect the underlying layers of muscles and other organs.Delay healing of wounds caused by major or minor injuries, surgery, or burns, as well as non-healing wounds, such as ulcers represents the most prevalent treatable conditions faced by humans and animals. So Medical chitosan can enhance healing process.This enhancement is visualized by reducing the duration of healing phases and more activation of inflammatory cells. Also medical chitosan enhance reepithelializeation process.
