Evaluation of Driver Rehabilitation Programmes
Details
Driver rehabilitation programmes for traffic offenders aim to reduce road accident and injury numbers. This is achieved through the transfer of offence-related knowledge and changes in the participants' attitudes, which consequently lead to positive changes in on-road behaviour. This book takes a look at driver rehabilitation programmes and their evaluation in Europe and, more in-depth, in Austria. It includes a detailed evaluation of driver rehabilitation programmes offered by the Austrian Applied Psychology Ltd. A special focus is put on the analysis of differences in the effectiveness of the courses between German native speakers and participants with a native language other than German. Due to the expansion of the European Union the number of programme participants with different native languages can be expected to grow over the coming years making research regarding this matter a subject of growing interest and importance.
