Measuring employees performance has long been of interest to many organisations the teaching fraternity inclusive. However, the success of an evaluation programme is dependent on the effectiveness of the system under use. This has created the need for empirical research to ascertain the effectiveness of performance evaluation system . Evaluating the performance of teachers based on national examinations is not adequate as there are intervening variables that influence performance. This book provides an analysis of the effectiveness of the performance evaluation system of teachers in secondary schools. It has an indepth assessment of the performance evaluation system, challenges accruing while evaluating teachers, applicability of the performance evaluation system in secondary schools and the effectiveness of the performance evaluation system among secondary school teachers. This book is especially useful to policy makers and stakeholders in the education sector as it sheds light on the effectiveness of the performance evaluation system of teachers in secondary schools. It also sheds light on key weaknesses in the system and makes suggestions on how it can be made more effective.

She has a B.ed in English/Literature, an Msc in Human Resource Development and is undertaking phd in Human Resource Development and an M.A in Linguistics in English.Currently she's a lecturer at Meru Technical T.I.
