Evaluation of hypoglycemic activity of ethanolic extract of Murrayakoe

Nowadays the population of diabetic patients have increased and creates challenges to the researchers to develop a molecule devoid of side effects, especially for the treatment of type 2 diabetic patients. So researches have placed special interest in herbal medicines which are free from side effects. The botanical studies,revealed that the plant Murrayakoenigii has been used in various therapeutic properties such as anti-ulcer,analgesic,anti-microbial,anti-fungal,carminative,stomachic. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the hypoglycaemic activity of ethanolic extract of Murrayakoenigii stem in alloxan induced albino rats involving possible antioxidant mechanism.
