EVALUATION OF IMMUNOMODULATORY POTENTIAL OF Boerhavia erecta (L.)

aqueous extract of Boerhavia erecta showed more significant immunomodulatory (phagocytosis stimulation) and antibacterial action. In case of un specified microbial infection this multi potent plant extract is much beneficial and non toxic as compared to the synthetic medicine. It might be concluded, plant extract possessed phagocytosis stimulatory and antibacterial potential due to the presence of alkaloids as per literature. Further isolation and characterisation of phytoconstituents and in-vivo evaluations are need to explore this plant as phytomedicine against pathogenic microorganism.
