Evaluation of students' knowledge of amphibians and reptiles

The aim of this research was to analyse the knowledge that public school students in Serra Talhada have about amphibians and reptiles, especially with regard to their classification, biology and ecological importance. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to carry out the research, and the data obtained was compiled in Excel spreadsheets which served as a tool for producing tables and graphs. According to the results obtained, it can be seen that the participants in the research have considerable knowledge about amphibians and reptiles, however, there is still the influence of certain legends that make up this learning, and it is necessary to elucidate these themes within the science disciplines, especially in the early grades, as well as bringing students closer to the reality that surrounds them, through changes in the profile of science classes, confronting scientific and traditional knowledge.

Sie hat einen Abschluss in Biowissenschaften an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Serra Talhada (2009) und einen Aufbaustudiengang in Umweltwissenschaften an derselben Institution absolviert. Sie verfügt über Erfahrung im Umweltbereich mit Schwerpunkt Ökologie. Derzeit ist sie Mitglied des Lehrkörpers der FAFOPST (Pädagogische Hochschule Serra Talhada) und Masterstudentin an der FCU.
