Turner is a first-team 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball All-American and 2010 National Player of the Year. Turner is the incumbent two-time Big Ten Conference scoring champion and the reigning Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He has twice been the only player named as a unanimous first-team selection by both the coaches and the media to the All-Big Ten team. By finishing first in scoring and second in both rebounds and assists in the conference in the 2009-10 season, he is the first men's basketball player to finish in the top two in each of these categories and in fact, the first to finish in the top five in each category in the same season. Turner has declared himself eligible for the 2010 NBA Draft
