With the advancement in science and technology, there is a progressive increase in the various diagnostic techniques for determining the severity of cardiovascular disorders.Among the countless cardiovascular problems, Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a most devastating ailment with high morbidity and mortality. CAD is the dynamic and progressive disorder arising from the combination of various factors like endothelial dysfunction and inflammation. A huge type of non-invasive as well as invasive diagnostic tools are on hand for the analysis of coronary artery disorder. The detection of early predictors of coronary artery disorders which are involved in their etiopathogenesis of utmost importance for the early therapeutic treatment. Keeping all this in view, the main objective of the present book is focused on the invasive and non-invasive imaging tools with respect to their merits and demerits for the diagnosis of CAD. Moreover, this review also highlights the evolving concepts of traditional and novel inflammatory markers involved in CAD.

Dr. Pawan Krishan is serving as Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University Patiala. He has 20 years of teaching and research experience and has guided three PhD students. He has expertise in carrying out experimental animal studies for various metabolic disorders and clinical studies.
