Ex Post Environmental Impact Assessment

The world's population is multiplying day-by-day and development projects need to be built to accomplish the desires of the generations. Almost all development projects have unwanted environmental consequences. In this book the conceptual framework is more empirical and provides an in-depth analysis of environmental impacts. The analysed data is presented in the form maps, diagrams and tables to communicate the results. The book highlights wide array of topics such as concept of EIA, EIA methodologies, impacts of various case development projects, ex post impact evaluations and use of Geoinformatics in EIA. This book however presents in- depth details and analyse the available scientific data for assessing the development projects. Similarly, for ex post impact evaluation various interdisciplinary techniques have been used. I am sure that this book is multi-disciplinary and equally useful for the students, teachers and other stakeholders who want to act in favour of sustainable development.

Dr Atta-ur-Rahman is Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Urban & Regional Planning, University of Peshawar-Pakistan. He is visiting faculty at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness & Management, University of Peshawar. He got degrees of MSc Geography, MSc Urban & Regional Planning, MPhil DRR and PhD in EIA. Dr. Rahman has also contributed more than forty research articles in prestigious journals.
