The choice of price-setting currency, when and how to adjust prices, the limitations of hedging and segmentation of national markets are some of the issues analyzed. RICHARD FRIBERG (born 1967) is a research associate of the Department of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics. His research has focused on links between firm behaviour and exchange rate risk. He co-authored a background report for the Swedish government commission on EMU and he has published in the Journal of International Economics and other major journals. In 1994-95 he spent one year as a Fulbright scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
