Exclusive Breastfeeding as Contraceptive: Insight from Ibadan, Nigeria

This book is the outcome of an empirical study on the knowledge, attitude and practice of exclusive breastfeeding as a contraceptive in Ibadan Metropolis, Nigeria. This book provides a holistic data and analyses on the determinants of knowledge, attitude and practice of EBF as contraceptive. Using triangulated methods and techniques, the book provides empirical relationships between knowledge, attitude, practice and various social status indicators such as level of education, age, ethnic groups, and income. In addition, it demonstrates the essential central role of theory and the utility of statistical analysis in social science research. It will no, doubt, be useful to demographers, sociologists, social scientists and students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels who need to be grounded in social science research methods and public health issues in relation to family planning methods.
