Details

The main goal of this research, conducted from Mar
2004-Aug 2004, is to detail the executive staffing
practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. As the US
and Mexico increasingly engage in global business,
multinationals adopt joint ventures as the
predominant mode of entry. Therefore executive
recruitment and selection practices, is a critical
first step for international joint ventures.
However, there is a paucity of research on executive
staffing practices of US-Mexican joint ventures.
This book helps to overcome this research gap by
comprehensively showcasing executive staffing
practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. The main
results identified external and internal methods of
recruitment and a variety of hiring practices to
glean the best talent. This research also examines
the role of firm characteristics on executive
staffing practices and details the challenges of
cross-cultural survey research. This information
will provide valuable information to HRM
practitioners to get a global perspective on
staffing practices and researchers will gather
important guidelines for international research.
