One of the challenges facing the developing world is how to meet up with the increasing cost and depletion of mineral oils, which thus forced increased research in order to find suitable alternatives of energy resources. It was estimated that at the present pace of their consumption, oil and gas reserve will be exhausted in 41 and 63 years respectively. Thus, it is incumbent for humanity in general to source for alternative fuels that can guarantee renewability, affordability and safe sustainable environment. The achievement of this will serve as one of the main solutions to the global energy crisis. Exploitation of fossil fuels and their ever-increasing prices forced researchers to find alternatives that will be able to satisfy the aforementioned conditions.
