Do you know of anyone who is in an abusive relationship? Have you at some stage in your life experinced abuse? If yes, your not the only one. This book will explore some of the experiences and coping mechanisms of women who stay in abusive relationships. As the Technology advances, more and more women are becoming empowered with education and influentail jobs, however, statistics still indicate that there is still a high number of women who choose to stay in abusive marital relationships.A complexity of factors contribute to the reasons abused women attach to staying in abusive relationships. Some of those reasons, include, the need for security, child support, low self esteem, cultural values and morals, financial security, etc. What is important is for the reader to understand the dynamics of abusive relationships, as they may be complex.

Fikile is a Counselling Psychologist. She studied her undergraduate and postgraduate honours and masters degree in Psychology at the University of Pretoria. Durring her Masters research programme she dedided to explore the Experiences and Coping mechanisms of black middle class women who remain in abusive marital relationships.
