Wound is traumatic separation of skin, mucous membrane or tissue surface. Animal tends to get a variety of wounds and if they are not taken care of, it may lead to toxemia or even death. Wound healing is the foundation of surgery. It is a vital body response to injury, which involves a sequence of events at the molecular & cellular level, representing the body's attempt to restore both structural and functional integrity or continuity of the tissue. It also represents a biological adaptation without which complex multi cellular organisms could neither survive nor evolve (Ross, 1969).
