Expertise in Social Work

Methodology is very important for the research procedure that the Social Worker performs in his intervention, since in his process of collecting information he has the use of a method, techniques and instruments in the different levels of intervention, such as individual, group and community. The social worker as a professional in the specialty of Social Expertise, in the administration of justice, it is of great importance to have clear the object of study to intervene, thus as a suitable professional will have to have skills in the use of techniques such as observation, home consultation, questions (circular, linear), informal dialogue, focus group etc., as well as the instruments: familiogram, ecomapa, family apgar, interviews, social reports, field diary, test etc.. The Social Worker in research and intervention in his professional work will emphasize one of its functions specifically in the legal field as an Expert where he has functions in the civil and criminal order, his responsibility is the preparation of the Expert Social Report, also called Expert Opinion, which is addressed to a judge or prosecutor.
