Export and Import Policy for Indian Dairy Sector
Details
The economic policy reforms in India after 1991 reoriented the country's economy towards liberalization and integration with the global economy, expanding market opportunities for the dairy and animal husbandry sector. The demand for cattle products has significantly increased over the past 20 years as a result of continuous economic growth and rising incomes. On the other hand, concerns are being voiced regarding the ability of Indian livestock farmers, the majority of whom are small and marginal, to seize new opportunities in the context of trade liberalization. The multiple challenges can be met by thorough livestock research and development projects. This study sheds light on the strength of international commerce, as well as the status quo and tendencies in the Indian dairy business during the last few years. The export and import trends of dairy products in India, as well as their diversification and stability with regard to various product categories, have been thoroughly investigated.
