Non Destructive Testing methods like liquid penetrate Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Radio-graphic Testing, Ultrasonic Inspection, Eddy current Testing etc play an important role in promoting quality in Industrial fabrication. Radio-graphic technique uses the penetrating property of radiation of X-ray or gamma rays which as directed into the specimen under examination and the transmitted pattern of emerging radiation is recorded on a recording medium (film). The time for which the film is exposed to the radiation is called Exposure time. Aluminium material is used in fabrication whose absorption property of radiation energy is different from steel; the exposure time will not be the same as that of steel. This project deals with the preparation of the exposure chart for Aluminium using X-rays by drawing preliminary, intermediate and final exposure by measuring the densities at different kilo-volts of energy of X-ray for different tube currents. This exposure drawn will be a ready reckoner and help the radiographer to calculate the exposure time correctly.
