Agriculture is the mainstay of economy in most of the developed and developing nations. The four pillars of sustainable agriculture research, education, extension and training should receive equal attention. The focal point is to achieve community development. This book has been developed to provide an exhaustive discussion on role of extension, organizations and community participation in achieving CD. Also emphasize has been given to gender issues which is also a vital area to be concentrated. This book is spread over twenty one chapters and arranged in five major parts. The first part introduces the concept of Community Development and its essentials. Second part explains the Extension Education and its strategies and methods. The third part presents the different Community Organizations and its role in achieving CD. Fourth part highlights the crucial element of Community Participation in achieving development. R.Dayanandan is having the academic background of M.A (Economics), M.A (Rural Development), M.Phil, PGDPM and Ph.D with extensive teaching and research experience. A prolific writer, published five books and many papers. Also presented papers in international conferences. Currently is an Associate Professor of Mekelle University.
