EXTERNAL VIEW OF CÔTE D'IVOIRE IN CRISIS

Since 1989, Côte d'Ivoire has entered a critical phase of its growth towards a modern and strong state, towards the requirements of a developed country. The worsening of the economic crisis that began in the early 1980s had plunged the country into a real abyss, and new political and institutional conditions were imposed on it. The country was restructured at the political level by opening up to a multiparty system and at the institutional level by inserting the post of Prime Minister into the executive and appointing a constitutional successor.The actors and effects of this restructuring will prepare, develop and aggravate a deep political crisis that is becoming a quagmire for the country. The population, politicized as much as it wants to be, is now divided by political persuasion. And the effects of this deep division not only leave the State in a great weakness to the point of losing its public power, but also and above all lead to the collapse of all efforts to build a solid and strong nation. This book reviews the different actors and measures the effects of their actions from the preparation to the rotting of the situation.
