JOHANNES MAGDALENUS SCHEPERS, born on 2 February 1930 in Marquard (OFS).He studied at the University of the Orange Free State where he obtained a B.A. degree with distinction in both majors, Psychology and Sociology.In 1956 he obtained an M.A.degree in Psychology (cum laude) at the same university.He obtained an A.M. degree in Psychology in 1959.
