Details

In the Botswana education system some subject teachers who served for a longer time get elevated to positions of leadership and management. On the one hand some get promoted within a short period in the teaching cadre. Suddenly they are addressed as school managers. The big question is that are they fully equipped to manage modern and diverse public schools? CHANGE is a buzzword therefore it will invariably be a complex challenge for anyone in the leadership and management position to implement organizational changes without the knowledge of influential factors. Organizational structure, culture, communication, demographics, personal values and participatory decision-making are such very important factors. The probability is high that without appropriate organizational structure, doable school culture and effective communication the implementation of any change initiative is headed for failure. Therefore this book provides an opportunity to the interested school managers to be able to appreciate such factors and learn then apply change management models where possible.
