Failure of non-invasive ventilation in covid patients 19
Details
Covid 19 is characterised by an epidemiological evolution in successive waves. We conducted a descriptive, retrospective, monocentric study in the emergency and intensive care unit of the Habib Thameur Hospital in Tunis, over a period of six months. We included patients with a critical COVID 19 infection who had been hospitalised for more than 48 hours, were over 18 years of age and required non-invasive ventilatory support. The risk factors for mortality failure were: age greater than 61 years (p=0.001), IGSII> 28 points, inspired O2 fraction >60% (p=0.003), inspiratory support greater than 11 (p=0. 025), a positive expiratory pressure greater than 9 (p=0.004), recourse to invasive mechanical ventilation (p<10-3), the presence of a pulmonary embolism (p=0.01), the development of a state of shock (p<10-3) and a nosocomial infection.
