Failures in Implant Dentistry and their Management

In current times, the most esthetic and functional alternative to missing teeth are osseo integrated dental implants. Reported success rates for dental implants are as high as 98%. Nevertheless despite many advances in materials, techniques and implant design, implant failure is a significant concern for the dentist and patient. The treatment is not always successful resulting in the implant loss. There are a variety of reasons for the failure of dental implants. Dental implant failure has led to continuous innovations of various implants systems and to different interceptive treatment modalities. Different reasons for the implant failure and their contributing factors have been discussed in this book in a simple language. Also the various treatment modalities both surgical and nonsurgical for the management of dental implant failures have been discussed in the book.

Dr. Shreeya has completed BDS from Y.M.T. Dental College,Navi-Mumbai in 2017 and is currently pursuing MDS in Prosthodontics from Tatyasaheb Kore Dental College, Kolhapur. She has presented posters, papers, case reports at various conferences. She has a keen interest in the field of dental implantology and wishes to work extensively in this branch.
