This book introduces you to household resource management. The definition of family and different types of families. The various roles and positions of families. The family cycle and their corresponding developmental tasks. The goal of family values. Family studies involves the study of families, what they do, how they are structured and the interactions that goes on within family settings that contribute to family strengths. According to Sasse (1997), studying the family helps an individual to understand him/herself better and enables him/her to appreciate how families meet the needs of their members.
