The book Fermented Groundnut Shell Diets for The Culture of Catfish is a valuable tool for fish farmers, undergraduates, postgraduates and scientists in Aquaculture, and researchers in related areas. The future growth of the aquaculture industry depends upon the availability of suitable and economic feeds; therefore feeds that are less competitive and of low cost value like groundnut shell diets should be considered. And the process of solid state fermentation has been suggested as an alternative means to improve the nutritional value and utilization of non-conventional plant resources for fish feed. This book highlights the importance of non conventional feedstuff (fermented groundnut shell) as an alternative feedstuff to the conventional feedstuffs which are not cost effective in the production of fish feed. This book also highlight feed cost and competition between animals and humans for the same foodstuff suggest strongly that alternative energy sources such as groundnut wastes be used partially or totally to replace maize in fish diet formulations in order to reduce costs in aquaculture production and to make the food items competed for more available for consumption by man.
