Financial and social dynamics of rural women

This book aims to analyze the foundations of the financial and social dynamics of rural women in Agou Dzogbepime through the AVE&C approach. The "Village Savings and Credit Associations" (VSCA) approach is a financing strategy that has been implemented since 2006 in Togolese rural communities in the context of financial inclusion. It is a form of improved tontine whose savings mobilization is basically based on the principle of buying shares. The enthusiasm of the populations for the methodology was quickly revealed through the multiple practices. Thus, in 2012, about thirty women from the village of Agou Dzogbepime in the South-East of Togo, organized themselves to practice the said tontine. In September 2018, we denoted a financial and social dynamics of 6 AVE&C groups, totaling 159 members including 10 men. We discovered that the intrinsic characteristics of the methodology notably the principle of share purchase, and the practical organization are the basis of its success in the implementing communities.
