Financial development and economic growth in Algeria

Despite various studies, both theoretical and empirical, the link between financial development and economic growth remains a controversial issue. The main objective of this thesis is to clarify the nature of such a relationship in Algeria. In this context, the various estimates were carried out using the staggered lag autoregressive (SLAR) approach, for the period from 1980 to 2019. Our results show that financial development has a negative impact on economic growth.
