Financial Position Analysis of the RS's Agricultural Industry

Financial position of business entities can be strong, acceptable and weak. It can be measured by many indicators, such as short-term and long-term liquidity, debt-paying ability, solvency, maintenance of real equity value and reproduction capability. The financial position analysis of the RS' agricultural industry includes: the analysis of the financial position of the whole industry as one entity (constituted by approximately 300 companies), the analysis of certain financial position indicators of individual companies and the analysis of financial position indicators by municipalities and types of business operations in order to see if a specific region or a certain type of their operations have an impact on their financial position. The author concludes that although the financial position of the whole industry in average is more acceptable than weak, the financial position of the majority of agricultural companies is more weak than acceptable. Such situation requires a number of measures to be implemented by both individual companies and the state in order to improve the financial position of the RS' agricultural industry.

Tamara Stojanovic received her Ph.D. in Accounting and Auditing from the University of East Sarajevo in 2010. She also has a Masters degree in Financial Management with the Internal Auditing emphasis from the University of Banja Luka (2006). She is currently serving as assistant professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Banja Luka State University.
