This book focuses on the transient performance implementation of Markov jump systems under state/output constraints, using the sliding mode control method. Both finite-time boundedness and input-output finite-time stability under engineering practice have been addressed, with weight placed on control theory and engineering practice. This is achieved by providing an in-depth study on several major topics such as fault-tolerant control, component-wise control, non-fragile control, security control, and hybrid control. Autorentext

Zhiru Cao received the B.Sc. degree in Building Electricity & Intelligence from Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing, China, in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree in Control Science and Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China, in 2022. She is currently a lecturer with Shanghai University. From January 2020 to February 2021, she was a visiting Ph.D. student with the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Brunel University London, Uxbridge, U.K. She also was a research assistant with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong, and the University of Macau, Macau, China. Her current research interests include Markov jump systems, networked control system, sliding mode control, finite-time control, and sampled-data control.

Yugang Niu received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Control Engineering from the Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing, China, in 1992 and 2001, respectively. In 2003, he joined the School of Information Science and Engineering, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China, where he is currently a professor of Control Science and Engineering in the Department of Automation. Professor Niu's research interests include stochastic systems, sliding mode control, Markov jump systems, networked control systems, wireless sensor networks, and smart grid. He has published more than 200 papers in international journals, and he is also the co-author of the book Protocols-Based Sliding Mode Control (Taylor & Francis Group, 2022).
