Flaxseed oil and Melatonin on Reproductive traits in Caprine Species

Artificial insemination is a technique in genetic improvement in the livestock industries. Various factors such as scrotal circumference, testicular biometrics, endocrinological profiles, antioxidant and oxidative stress profiles and serum biochemical profiles play important role in determination of libido, semen quality profiles and fertility rate in mammalian species. Flaxseed oil contains different chemical compounds including antioxidants that protect the reproductive parameters including semen quality parameters. Similarly melatonin is a potential antioxidant that protects the structures of reproductive tract and semen quality profiles. Dietary supplementation of flaxseed oil and injection of melatonin protected the reproductive tract, reproductive parameters and semen quality profiles in caprine species. This book will be useful to the scientists working in the andrology or semen processing laboratory, animal breeders, dairy farmers or commercial frozen semen banks and extender/preservatives manufacturing companies.
