Floating swimming pool

This book is about my graduation: "Floating swimming pool . The floating swimming pool is located in the former RDM yard in the port of Rotterdam. The pool support the campus of the Academic of Architecture, the University of Rotterdam and innovative companies to attract more people to the area. In this book I show the development of my graduation. The design of the floating swimming pool is explained from architectural and technical positions. In several chapters I zoom in to particular aspects of the building; the facade, the interior and the technology used in the building, like fibre reinforced plastic used as construction material. The technical development is explained from the principle of the floating building to the calculations of the fibre reinforced plastic construction. My thesis can be used for designing and engineering of floating buildings.

Autorentext

In 2010 I graduated (msc) from the Technical University of Delft in the direction of Architectural Engineering, with a design of a floating swimming pool. In 2007 I graduated (ba) from the University RIBACS Rotterdam, in the direction architecture with a design of a green facade.
