Flora of Ibb

Ibb governorate is located in the southern region of Yemen. It lies between longitudinal rang 43o 30 and 44o 45 east and latitudinal rang between 13o 45 and 14o 30 north. The center of the governorate lays 190 Km south part of Sana a (the capital of Yemen).About 416 species of plants were Studied belonging to 95 families,7 families of Pteridophyta, represented by 13 species, 8 genera, 2 families of Gymnosperms, represented by 3 species, 3 genera and the remaining 86 families are belonging to Angiosperms. Dicotyledons are represented by 338 species, 236 genera and 65 families and Monocotyledons are reported by 62 species, 47 genera and 21 families.

He was born in 1974 in Yanbu' Al-Bahr, Saudi Arabia & earned B. Sc. Degree in Biology-Chemistry from Sana'a University, Yemen. He also holds M. Sc. degree in Botany (plant Taxonomy) from Sana'a University, Yemen. From 2008 until now he is worked as Lecturer of Botany at Biology Department,Faculty of Science,Ibb University, Ibb, Yemen.
