Fluorocarbon molecules possess unique properties that
make them useful in various facets of life. More
recently fluorine chemistry has had a major impact on
the pharmaceutical industry and biomedicinal
research. The importance of fluorinated molecules and
fluorinated analogues of natural compounds is of
growing interest to the scientific community because
of the increased understanding of the importance of
fluorine in pharmacological properties. It has
triggered the need for developing new synthetic
methodologies for the introduction of fluorine and
fluoroalkyl groups into various organic molecules
which will enable the scientific world to explore new
fluoroorganics. This book covers novel nucleophilic
monofluoromethylation reactions, synthesis of new
electrophilic difluoromethylating reagents and their
use in making novel difluoro methyl compounds. The
book also details on the use of solid hydrogen
peroxide reagents for ipso hydroxylation of aryl
boronic acids as well as on the synthesis of
monodisperse poly vinyl pyridine nanospheres by
emulsifier free emulsion polymerization.
