Folklore in literature

This is a book that studies folklore in different literary manifestations ranging from proverbs and riddles to popular songs. The author proposes here a method of analysis that resorts not only to stylistics and structural approaches but also to a novel use of psychoanalysis. Mario Calderón has published several studies on riddles that make him an authority on the subject.

Mario Calderón è poeta, narratore e critico letterario. Ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in Letteratura ispano-americana. Attualmente è professore di ricerca presso l'Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. È membro del SNI (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores) e ha fatto parte del Sistema de creadores con trayectoria del FONCA e di Guanajuato y Puebla.
