I wrote this book with the intention of making my research work available to all stakeholders in the society who have something to do with food law and hygiene. This book will also be useful to students in the field of Catering. The study investigated the food law and hygiene awareness of butchers in Jaman South District and their implications on the populace. The objectives were to examine the hygiene awareness of butchers, their knowledge in good hygiene practices and the food laws in Ghana and the health and economic implications associated with their activities. Structured questionnaires were administered to 150 respondents comprising one hundred and twenty persons from the general public and thirty butchers. The methodology involved field work, survey, questionnaire and interview.
