In Senegal, the diversification of cash crops, in parallel with the diversification of sources of funding for the national budget, has become an important issue for the promotion of double-digit economic growth and for policies to combat poverty. To this end, the Casamance Economic Development Support Program has turned its attention to developing promising sectors such as cashew nuts and honey. But it's one thing to promote these "promising" sectors, and quite another to know how they benefit the people who work in them and the rest of the community. To this end, the study adopted a methodological approach based essentially on documentary research, direct observations, field surveys and structured interviews, from which data relating to production and marketing systems, stakeholders, the community, the analysis method and the cashew industry in general were collected.
