Also held positions in other professional institutions as follows: Chairman of the Board of Directors, Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI); Chairman, International Geographical Union (IGU) National Committee; Member of the Inter-University Council for East Africa; Commonwealth Geographical Bureau (CGB) Management Committee.
