Primary forest are becoming scarce due to the numerous activities that takes place within the forest.The quest and demand of wood is on the rise as well as encroachment to forest for agricultural land due to population increase. The Congo Basin is the second largest standing forest after the Amazon. Activities within this zone and especially in Cameroon has continuous impact on the forest. Forest degradation and deforestation is on the rise and if it continues at this rate, the world stand in loosing this rich resource which have a strong relationship with Climate change- the cry of the day. This book evaluates the trend of vegetation degradation between 1986 and 2006 in Manyu Division of the SW Region of Cameroon aiming at correlating between forest degradation and climate change with view to suggest mitigation option for sustainable environment. The study observed a direct relationship between forest degradation and climate change. It further revealed the importance of RS/GIS in addressing these phenomena. This book target all the stakeholders that are involve in the management of forest resource as well as researchers.
