Maddy Mara ist das Pseudonym des Kreativduos Hilary Rogers und Meredith Badger. Die beiden Australierinnen machen schon seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten zusammen Kinderbücher. Hilary hat als Autorin und ehemalige Verlagsleiterin mehrere Serien geschaffen, die sich millionenfach verkauft haben. Meredith ist Autorin zahlreicher Kinder- und Jugendbücher und unterrichtet außerdem Englisch. Bei den Dragon Girls schreiben sie zum ersten Mal gemeinsam unter dem Namen Maddy Mara, der Verschmelzung der Namen ihrer beiden Töchter.
