Fostering Development Through Planning

Development is a hydra-headed concept permeating through every facet of humanity; hence, the worldwide attention availed it. It is the constant attempts at improving the standard of human life. It can be very quick in some climes and yet slow in others. But in either of the instances, the step by step enforcement makes the difference; herein lies the pertinence of planning. In fact, it is only by physical planning that a sustainable physical, social and economic development which cuts across the entire country can be successfully achieved. Thus, for any society to achieve development, then it must also take deeper interest in planning. This work reveals and analyzes how development can be fostered via the means of planning considering particularly the Nigerian situation. This work exhibits the unbreakable relationship between development and planning. Concluding thus; for there to be proper development in any society, there needs to be planning. The work in achieving all of the above, focuses on the Nigerian legal system and its framework. The work after critical consideration and analysis, recommends feasible solutions.
