FPGA and Image Security: Modern Methods for Digital Protection

Digital transmission networks, which have become indispensable for the massive sharing of information, now expose multimedia data to growing risks of espionage, falsification and unauthorized access. Against this backdrop, cryptography is an essential pillar in guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of content. However, the complexity of conventional algorithms and the limitations of software implementations, particularly in real-time processing, point to the need for more powerful solutions.Hardware implementation is emerging as an effective alternative. FPGAs offer an ideal platform for designing robust safety systems.This book explores the development and implementation on FPGAs of cryptographic techniques dedicated to the protection of digital images. It highlights the value of reconfigurable architectures, revisits the fundamental principles of modern cryptography and presents a security approach based on chaotic systems, illustrating their potential for enhancing visual data protection in today's digital environments.
