Joseph Marie François Spoturno dit François Coty est un industriel et homme politique corse, né à Ajaccio le 3 mai 1874 et mort à Louveciennes le 25 juillet 1934. Né en 1874 à Ajaccio, orphelin très jeune, François Coty est élevé par sa grand-mère Anne Marie Bellon et est étudiant en médecine en 1900. Le 12 juin 1900, il épouse à la mairie du 6e arrondissement de Paris Yvonne Alexandrine Le Baron, petite-fille d'Alphée Dubois et s'installe à Paris, où il adopte le nom de sa mère, Coti adapté en Coty, jugé plus facile à prononcer et sans doute plus acceptable socialement que son patronyme.
