Freedom with commitment

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is classified as a third generation behavioural therapy. It aims to achieve psychological flexibility by verbally understanding problems and consciously analysing private events. The general aim of the book is to describe the interaction between the components of the intervention model proposed by ACT based on an analysis of the content of a cultural artefact. The specific objectives are to identify the main concepts of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); to describe the characteristics of third generation therapies, comparing them with first and second generation therapies; to describe the objectives of ACT; to describe the components of the ACT intervention model and to present the application of the ACT intervention model in a specific context. The design is qualitative and exploratory. The feature-length animated film Valente was used as a source.

Stefânia Bertelli Soldatelli est titulaire d'un diplôme en psychologie de l'université de Caxias do Sul (UCS), avec une spécialisation en santé clinique et institutionnelle. Elle a travaillé dans des services de santé publique et des institutions nationales. Formation en thérapie d'acceptation et d'engagement en cours. Elle travaille actuellement dans le domaine de la psychologie clinique.
