From 6years to 100:
Details
The changing face of war in the 21st century makes it imperative for scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences to take stock of what happens to its (war) victims when the fighting is over. Historically, minorities, especially women and children were suppossed to be protected from the fatalities of war. This work; From 6years to 100: Examining Post-traumatic Stress Disorders Among Former Child Soldiers presents tales of suffering and tragedies encountered by minors yet, adamantly refused to give up on life. It is set in 3countries; Sierra Leone, Camboddia and Uganda - countries that were covered by unrelenting war and absolute violence. Using the biographies of former child soldiers, this work eloquently analyzes experiences of children that have looked death inthe face but still managed to remain commtted to the human instincts of survival. losing innocence between the ages of 8-15, former child soldiers studied in this work missed the simple virtues of their comminuties. But, reading about the spirit-reviving stories of how they adapted to life in the new societies (they all re-settled in America) is relative proof that if we choose to, we can handle our differences amicably
