From Rome to Reformed

Does finding the truth or do differences between religious confessions even matter in our post-modern world? In this book the author, as an Italian ex-Catholic, recollects his personal confessions, taking us through a journey that led him from a devout upbringing right at the heart of Italy on the road to priesthood within Roman Catholicism, to then embracing Protestantism through a radical conversion, having experienced salvation in Jesus Christ. This will be a journey with the Bible as its roadmap. Each chapter will deal with a specific Catholic belief (Salvation, baptism, Eucharist, papacy, Mary, etc., ...) and analyze it in light of the Bible. This comparison will also have the benefit to be accompanied by constant reflections drawn from the personal experience of the author on the specific Catholic belief. This spiritual journey led its author away from the Church of Rome toward the teachings of the Reformation, particularly within its Baptist and Calvinistic fringes. Marrying intellectual inquiry with real life, this book will prove to be of great help for anyone searching for the truths at the foundations of Christianity.

Dr. Ottavio Palombaro is an Italian Theologian (Th.D. Free University, Netherland M.Div., Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Michigan), Sociologist (Ph.D. Milan, M.A. Turin) and Cultural Anthropologist (B.A. Rome). He has written research on Sociology of Religion, Church History and Calvinistic Theology. He is also a Reformed Baptist pastor.
