Cockroaches are considered a disgusting and objectionable pest almost everywhere on earth by one-third of humans owing to their food contamination, property damage, and disease transmission. Cockroaches are labeled as pests not only because of their habit of contaminating food and food products but also due to their habit of contaminating other substances like cloths, dress materials, medicines, infant feeds, etc. Cockroaches play a role in the transmission of several pathogenic bacteria and parasitic diseases. They can tarnish the reputation of a high-class restaurant to a well-recognized super specialty hospital. Cockroaches probably have a long and close association with human habitations. Their infestations are a common problem facing food safety, health, and general hygiene which require a deeper understanding of the biology, behavior, and hiding place of the pests for effective control. Defects in the tourism industry of several locations also have been documented due to the severe cockroach infestation. It is important to understand the potential damage, hiding locations, and disease transmission caused by the cockroaches.
