Details

This book will provide you the fundamental of the application of Polymer Derived Ceramics (PDCs) to Hydrogen Catalysis. However, it can be used not only in hydrogen catalysis but in most catalytic applications. The above all is the bonding between the silicon from PDCs and transition metals to form silicides, reducing the cluster size of transition metals. The size reduction of metals due to this bonding is the critical issue to enhance the catalytic reactions. In addition, PDCs can be utilized in different academies and industries, such as lithium ion battery (LIB), fuel cell (FC) and defence. PDCs, Silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) is a potential material for the anode of LIB owing to its capability of Li ion intercalation. PDCs is also able to be a part of FC electrode due to its catalytic function. The coating of PDCs is capable of sustaining a harsh environment, high temperature and humidity. Therefore, Polymer Derived Ceramics could be one potential candidate of new energy materials in the next generation.
