Fundamental Aspects of Experimental Cardiology

Ischemia-reperfusion injury is the major cause of organ dysfunction especially in cardiovascular diseases; therefore, experimental techniques to induce myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury are necessary to understand the basic pathophysiology of cardiovascular-related disorders. The present book attempts to illustrate the basic and fundamental aspects of ischemia-reperfusion injury in preclinical and clinical studies. Ms Puneet Kaur Randhawa is Junior Research Fellow in Deptt of Pharma Sci & Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala. Her key area of research is exploring molecular mechanisms involved in inducing remote ischemic preconditioning-induced cardioprotection. She has published 3 review articles in reputed journals.
