Fundamental Concepts of Fluid Mechanics

The book is meant to present to the student community an introductory text on the subject of fluid mechanics and hydraulics. It has been written while keeping in mind answers to those questions that may be agitating the minds of student audiences while doing independent reading. As such, the fundamentals of the subject have been explained in the ways that will be self-explanatory to the students. The book comprises of ten chapters with each chapter divided into sections and sub-sections. All chapters of the book contained worked examples as well as questions for students to practice. Without any doubt, the book will be of use to students taking courses in fluid mechanics and hydraulics and especially when preparing for an examination, it will serve as a quick reference material.

Engr. S. A. A. Abimbola, a graduate of The Polytechnic Ibadan, University of Lagos and University of Ibadan was the pioneer Head of Department of Civil Enginering and two terms Dean of School Engineering, Federal Polytechnic, Ede. Presently he holds PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Ibadan, NIgeria. He is married with children.
